2. Data Collection on Our Website

2.1 Server Hosting

Our website is hosted by a professional hosting provider (Ionos). The provider automatically collects and stores technical connection information in "server log files", which your browser automatically transmits (browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL, IP address, and server request time). This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in ensuring the technical stability and security of the website).

2.2 Privacy-Friendly Analytics (Umami)

To analyze visitor behavior on our website and continuously improve our services, we use Umami. Umami is a highly privacy-focused, open-source web analytics utility.

✓ No Cookies: Umami does not store any trackers, cookies, or unique indicators on your device.
✓ Anonymity by Design: All data is fully anonymized. We cannot track individual users over multiple days or different sites.

3. Data Collection and Services in the App

Our app "Easy PDF Signer" is built as a local-first tool. This means: All modifications, compression, merging, or digital signing of your sensitive PDF documents occur entirely locally on your mobile device. None of your document files are uploaded to, read by, or stored on our servers.

To ensure application quality, technical operation, and the processing of subscriptions, we integrate the following specialized third-party services:

Expo (650 Industries, Inc.)

Infrastructure & Updates

We utilize the Expo framework to build the App and deliver "Over-the-Air" (OTA) updates (hotfixes and feature updates applied directly without waiting for App Store approval). During update checks, technical metadata (device type, operating system version, app version) is transmitted to verify compatibility.

PostHog, Inc.

Analytics & Crash Monitoring

To trace application bugs, improve performance, and understand overall app usage patterns, we use PostHog. This service processes pseudonymized device information, navigation patterns, and app event indicators. We host all data within the European Union (PostHog EU-Cloud, Frankfurt, Germany) in compliance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

RevenueCat, Inc.

Billing & Subscription Management

Validating your premium subscription status or one-time purchases is managed via RevenueCat. It verifies anonymous transaction receipts with the Apple App Store or Google Play Store servers. We never have access to your billing details, real names, or credit card numbers; these details are securely processed by the respectives App Stores.

4. Device Permissions

To perform specific local operations, the App may request authorization on your smartphone:

  • Camera: Used to capture images of physical papers to instantly convert them into locally stored PDFs.
  • Notifications: An optional permission to notify you about background document exports.

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through your mobile operating system's settings. The core capabilities of the app remain fully operational even if optional permissions are denied.

You can request a confirmation of whether we process personal data related to you and obtain a copy of it.

Rectification
